Returns
1. Statutory cancellation right (online orders)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you may cancel your order within 14 calendar days of the date you receive the goods. To exercise this right you must notify us in writing at info@meme.london within that 14-day period, quoting your order number. Verbal cancellations are not accepted.
Once you have notified us of cancellation, you must return the goods to us within 14 days. You are responsible for the cost of return and for the goods until they reach us. We strongly recommend insured, recorded delivery, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit back to us.
2. Condition of returned goods
All goods returned under the cancellation right must be returned complete, with all tags attached and in their original packaging, together with your order number.
We are entitled by law to reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value of the goods caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. Jewellery that has been worn, used, altered, or handled beyond simple inspection will be refunded at a reduced amount and, where the loss in value is total, may not be refunded at all.
3. Refunds
Where a valid cancellation is made, we will refund the price paid for the goods and the standard outbound delivery charge (we are not required to refund any premium or expedited delivery upgrade). Refunds are issued within 14 days of our receiving the goods back, or of your providing proof of postage, whichever is sooner, using the original payment method. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer and are not refundable.
4. Exclusions from the cancellation right (as permitted by law)
The following are excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right, as permitted under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:
Earrings and other pierced jewellery, which are supplied sealed for hygiene and health protection reasons. Once the hygiene seal has been broken, the cancellation right no longer applies and these items cannot be returned or refunded for change of mind.
These exclusions do not affect your legal rights in respect of faulty goods (see section 5).
5. Faulty items
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If an item is faulty:
Within 30 days of receipt, you may reject the item and receive a refund.
After 30 days and within 6 months, you are entitled to a repair or replacement. Where both remedies are available, the choice of whether to repair or replace is ours, and we may decline a requested remedy where it would be disproportionately costly compared with the alternative. A refund will only be provided where repair and replacement are both impossible or where our chosen remedy has failed, and any such refund may be reduced to reflect the use you have had of the item.
During the first 6 months, a fault is presumed to have been present at the time of delivery unless we can demonstrate otherwise. After 6 months, the burden is on the customer to demonstrate that the fault was present at the time of delivery.
To report a fault, email info@meme.london with your order number and a description and photographs of the issue. Faulty items must be returned to us for inspection before any refund, repair or replacement is provided.
6. Damage, misuse and care
We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, neglect, or failure to follow our care instructions. This includes, but is not limited to, tarnishing or deterioration caused by contact with water, perfume, cosmetics or chemicals, and damage caused by improper storage or handling.
Please take particular care with stones and their settings. We do not offer jewellery repairs, and where a setting is damaged through wear or misuse and a stone is lost as a result, we are unable to replace or refund the item.
